        The Power of Potential

You have reached the home page for the Westford Lightning Girls AAU Hoops Club. We currently have 4 teams looking to improve their basketball skills through practice and in 10U, 11U, 12U and 13U competitions.

NEWS ITEMS:

Rescheduled Practices: U10 Sparks Fri May 21 practice has been rescheduled to Mon May 24 at Crisafulli 6:30-8:30P.
Wed May 26 Skills-n-Drills practice (U10-U13) has been rescheduled to Wed Jun 2 7-8:30P at Blanchard. WA Coach Russ Coward and the WA Girls Varsity team expected to participate running a clinic.

Skills-n-Drills Night May 12: Wednesday nights Skills-n-Drills practice will be run by a special guest, Womens Basketball Asst Coach at Bentley University, C White. Coach White, is excited to lead the girls in an hour-long (and possibly longer) series of high energy drills. Coach White was a star point guard at Bentley from 1997 through 2001, where she led the Falcons to a 27-4 record and a 31-3 record during her junior and senior years, respectively. She finished her career in Bentley's top 30 all-time in scoring, top 10 in assists, and top 5 in 3-pointers. After taking an assistant coaching position at Harvard University, she returned to Bentley in 2003, where she has helped to continue the success of the strong Bentley women's basketball program. She was inducted into Westwood High School's Hall of Fame in 2008.
Please make sure that each player brings her ball to the practice and that she has lots of water to drink. It should be a fun and rockin' learning experience for the girls.

Weekend Update April 17-18: The Lightning girls ventured out to Essex County to play in 8 games spanning the U10, U11, U12-13 age groups. And came home with a 6-2 record. The U10 Lightning Sparks girls entered the Eastern Raider Basketball Challenge and split their games, with their loss coming against an older U11 team. The U11 Lightning Bolts girls swept both of their games at the New England Basketball One Day Challenge, as did the U12-13 Lightning Storm girls as they kept their unbeaten record intact with a thrilling overtime buzzer beating win. The U12-13 Lightning Flash girls fell by a single point in their first game at the tourney, but regrouped to pull out a victory in their second game of the night. Congratulations to all the girls!
